Announcement Subreddit Rule Refresher: Photos & Comments on Photos. NSFW

I wanted to post a general reminder of a few subreddit rules due to an increase in users trying to treat the subreddit as a place for simply sharing 'dick pics' to garner sexual attention and a few users providing sexual commentary on post-op photos.

Please remember that the scope of this subreddit is narrowly focused and intended to be a resource for those undergoing or considering adult male circumcision.

1.) Photos

While you may encounter explicit photos of penises on the subreddit due to the nature of the topic, this isn't a "dick pic" subreddit and explicit images should only be shared if they are reasonably necessarily to illustrate a thread.

What counts as being reasonably necessarily? — You were recently circumcised (i.e. the surgery was less than 1 year ago).

If you were circumcised more than a year ago, we very likely don't need to see your penis unless there’s some underlying question or concern.. This 1 year date is an arbitrary cut-off, but was chosen to allow people enough time to get reassurance that their dick isn't about to fall off and post subsequent status updates without it turning into someone simply posting "dick pics" to garner sexual attention.

If you try to post a photo and it's been over a year since you were circumcised, the thread will probably be locked and/or removed. Since it's clear the user didn't read the subreddit rules in these instances, the user may also receive a temp. ban to ensure that they read the removal reason and don't continue posting more photos to the subreddit. Typically, if a user replies to the ban message indicating they read and understand, the ban will be lifted. If I remove the temp. ban and they continue posting the same type of content, I become increasingly less patient.

If it's been less than a year and it is clear that the user is only posting photos in an attempt to garner sexual attention, the post will likely be locked and removed.

(Note: If it's been more than a year since you were circumcised and you still want to share dick pics, try posting on a dedicated NSFW dick pic subreddit such as r/CutCocks.)

2.) Comments on Photos

Also, the sexualized comments need to stop. I'm getting increasingly annoyed with the number of creepy comments being made in response to post-op photos.

The people (correctly) posting photos to this subreddit are doing so to get feedback that everything is okay and that their penis isn't about to fall off; not to have random people try to hit on them in the comments. If you can't keep things educational and informative, don't comment.

There's a difference between being educational/informative and being sexual...

Acceptable:

  • Telling someone that his circumcision is healing fine.
  • Telling someone that his circumcision "looks good" when they are wanting reassurance that it looks fine.

Not Acceptable:

  • Telling someone that they've got a "big dick" or "hot cock."
  • Suggesting sexual contact with them, or hypothetical sexual situations.
  • Including sexualized emojis (Examples: 😍, 🥰, 🤩, 🍆, 💦, etc.)

If you show a disregard for this rule, I'm probably going to ban you.

Essentially, it's usually fine to give feedback on the surgery itself (so long as you aren't being creepy by treating this as a fetish subreddit). It's not fine to give feedback on their penis as a sexual appendage.

Rule: Keep NSFW content to a minimum.

  • This is an educational subreddit that is open to members of all ages.
  • Only submit NSFW content that is reasonably necessary to illustrate a thread.
  • Don't post NSFW content if you're a minor.
  • If you were circumcised more than 1 year ago, we don't need to see your penis unless there’s some underlying question or concern.
  • If you are considering circumcision, do not submit NSFW content to solicit ‘circ. style’ recommendations.
  • Side-by-side before and after 'comparisons' are acceptable.

Rule: Don’t be overly sexual, seek sexual attention, or otherwise treat this as a ‘porn' subreddit.

  • Don't submit content that is unnecessarily sexualized.
  • Don’t submit threads with sexualized titles.
  • Don’t reply to threads with sexualized comments.
  • As a guideline: If your comment would get you fired or lead to disciplinary action if reported to the HR department of a typical work place, then don't say it here.

A full list of subreddit rules can be found in the sidebar and are also viewable on the rules page.

TL;DR:

  • Only post photos if you were recently circumcised (less than 1 year ago).
  • Don't post sexualized comments in response to those who do post photos.

I’ve never been 100% confident in what I tell people I am, but I think I’ve narrowed it down to either been loosely circumcised or partially done, but I’m not sure of the differences in nuances of the two styles.

Had my circumcision this morning, and things went a little differently than I expected.

I had it done under local anesthesia. My doctor told me during the consultation that I wouldn't feel pain during the procedure and that the area would stay numb for the rest of the day.

Even after multiple rounds of lidocaine, I could still feel quite a bit during the surgery. The procedure was quick, but the pain immediately afterward was intense. It felt like burning, almost like someone jabbing a rusty nail into my penis. It was bad enough that they gave me an oxycodone pill.

For context, I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so I was surprised by how much it hurt.

Right now, I'm sitting here with an ice pack on my dick, which has been helping quite a bit!

One other thing: I feel like I need to pee, but it's difficult to get the urine flowing unless I bear down. I'm wondering if the bandages might be too tight.

For those who've been through this:

Did you feel pain during the procedure under local anesthesia?

How bad was the pain immediately afterward?

Did you have trouble urinating?

Did ice packs help with the pain?

My advice to anyone considering circumcision: Discuss anesthesia and pain management with your doctor beforehand. I wish I'd had a better idea of what to expect. And definitely trim the hedges. otherwise it may het stuck in the bandages.

Hey all lost 1 stitch on the 13, 2 on the 14th and 2 more while sleeping. Day 15 pics are post shower I think 3 more fell off, down to the last one and i’m free of stitches.

How does everything look, I have a follow up with my doctor tomorrow. The underside of my penis definitely had to be carved out more than others because I had a lot of scar tissue from tearing frenulum multiple times and a frenuloplasty.

If you don’t have anything nice to say please take a breather and know this was medically necessary and my absolute last option it’s already taking such a big mental and physical toll on me haha.

Question How to clean my penis? NSFW

Had a partial circumcision due to phimosis a week ago. I have to continue to apply some cream today and tomorrow but I think I might be cleaning my penis incorrectly. How do I get the rest of the cream off. Do I rub my penis with my thumb? Feels horrible as I am very sensitive. Do I hit it with my shower? Which is kinda painful but not as uncomfortable as rubbing it.

Question Circumcision and partners NSFW

Hi, I've been wanting to get circumcised for years and have never taken the plunge for one reason or another (fear and doubt). Throughout the process, my partner has been very supportive and we have talked through it at length. From her responses, I have always gotten the sense that it was something she would prefer and enjoy, but she has never pushed me one way or another.

I'm wondering whether people have experience with their partners and their reception to being/getting circumcised or whether they have encouraged you to do it, didn't care, were happy after the fact?

Any advice would be appreciated. As much as I'd love to do it for her, I also mainly want to do it for myself.

Has anyone had this kind of scar after surgery that eventually went away after a few months? I had surgery last year, but the scar didn’t improve for months. I even went to a dermatologist and tried fractional laser and corticoid injections. I spent a lot of money on all of that, but unfortunately, nothing worked. So I decided to get a revision surgery two weeks ago. My doctor told me the same thing would probably happen again, and idk why 😭 This time, though, once it’s fully healed, I’m gonna try using silicone gel for the next few months. Does anyone have any recommended brands or other solutions that worked?

Post Op Cosmetic circumcision at 30. ZSR Stapler NSFW Spoiler

I have been fascinated about the exposed look of the penis for a long time. Used to keep my foreskin retracted 24/7, tied my frenulum couple of times to retract further, well that's a separate story.

Earlier this year I finally made up my mind to proceed with the surgery. Had a few consultations and managed to spare a week from work early September this year.

I went for a ZSR because of the usual quick procedure, faster healing, lesser downtime and stuff like that, also most doctors i met highly promoted this over freehand.

I took an appointment over the phone call a day prior to my preferred date for surgery. Took a cab and reached the clinic at 11 in the morning. The surgery started at around 11:30; cleaning, disinfectant, betadine, followed by a few anaesthesia injections. Although I barely have any frenulum left, the doctor had to make a few cuts to loosen it more. This was the only painful part of the surgery. The actual ZSR procedure took about 5 mins. Before wrapping with the bandage, I requested the doctor if i could see the final result, and it looked fine. The cut area and the rest of the penis was bandaged heavily which made it kinda stiff. After resting for about an hour in the clinic i picked my meds and left. Took a cab again and came back to my room.

Surprisingly enough, my recovery was pretty straightforward and convenient. At least a lot easier than what I expected. I had no swelling or bleeding at all. You can see the photos. Assuming day 0 is the day of surgery, I went to the clinic again on day 2 for dressing. Thereafter I had been doing it myself till day 10 - 12, after which it wasn't needed. Going to work from day 2, managed to keep it down to mostly desk work for the first few days, although it wasn't particularly needed since things were going pretty well. Having partial erections since day 5 or so. The ring fell on day 9. Till week 2, I only had a minor pain (only when touched or while changing bandage) in the frenulum which was cut during surgery.

It's been nearly a month now and it looks and feels pretty normal. I'm mostly happy with the results except that I expected a bit tighter cut. But i guess it's okay for now, until i feel like getting a revision in future.

Phimosis Condom is hard to put on with phimosis NSFW

Anyone have tips on how to put on a condom with phimosis? I cannot retract when erect, so when I try to put one on the foreskin goes back automatically, feels tight, and I lose my erection. I tried having sex with my gf and couldn’t because I couldn’t put the condom on. Still awaiting scheduling for circumcision.

I don't have any issue while having sex and also the orgasm becomes more intense now. Do I need revision now or it is not at all required for me. Please share your thoughts guys.

Post Op Is it normal to have pink "lump-like" swelling 8 days post-op? (Frenulum area looking uneven/bumpy) NSFW

Hi everyone. I am 8 days post-op from my circumcision and I’m feeling really anxious about how the underside (the frenulum area) looks right now.

The top part of my penis looks fairly straight and uniform, but on the bottom side, the skin isn't smooth at all. It looks like it bunched up or swelled into specific pink, shiny "lumps" or "little balls" right between the stitches. I don't know if this is just edema (fluid retention) or something else, and I'm terrified that it might stay like this forever. Also, because of this uneven swelling, some of the stitches look a bit crooked, misaligned, or loose.

Fortunately, I don't have any warning signs: there is no active bleeding, no fever, no pus or foul-smelling discharge, and my nighttime erections are not painful at all. I am currently wearing tight lycra/spandex boxers to keep my penis facing upwards (towards my belly button), and my follow-up appointment to remove the stitches is next Wednesday.

For those who have been through this: did your swelling look like asymmetrical lumps or bumps instead of a smooth, straight ring? Did it flatten out and get smooth over time? I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences to help calm my anxiety, as I'm very scared of an uneven aesthetic result. Thank you so much!

Health Benefits Could circumcision help with irritation during sex and small frenulum tears? NSFW

Hi everyone,

I’m considering circumcision and wanted to hear from people who have had similar issues or have experience with it.

My penis tends to get irritated quite easily during sex, like a bit of redness especially in the inner foreskin. Also I sometimes get small cuts or tears around my frenulum. It can be uncomfortable, and I’m wondering whether circumcision could help reduce the irritation and prevent these small tears from happening.

For those who had similar problems before getting circumcised, did you notice any improvement afterward ? Did sex become more comfortable, and did you experience less irritation or fewer tears?

I’m also curious about the aesthetic side of things. Does circumcision noticeably change the color of the penis, particularly the glans? Does the overall appearance or skin tone look different after healing? If so, what changes did you notice? I also got some tiny veins on my penis head I wonder if circumcision can affect that
I’d really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences, both positive and negative. Thanks in advance!

Post Op Severe Phimosis: My ZSR Stapler Circumcision Experience, Cost & Recovery NSFW

Note: This is based on my personal experience and does not contain any recommendations or advertisements.

Stapler circumcision

This is the method I chose. The stapler is one of the most advanced devices used for this procedure. Most of the private doctors I consulted recommended it as a better option. The most commonly known and available one is the ZSR stapler.

The device uses a silicone ring and is selected according to the size of the penis. It makes a circular cut around the glans, which may be more difficult to achieve consistently with manual stitches.

Blood loss is generally low or negligible, depending on the severity of the phimosis. However, since my condition was severe, I experienced some bleeding from the cut due to my tight foreskin. It wasn't major; it was more like a wound.

It's been almost two weeks, and I'm in the healing phase. The wounds have started healing, and I only noticed slight bleeding the last time I had an erection that lasted a long time. However, over the past three days, things have improved, and the wounds have healed further.

The silicone ring starts loosening on its own after around seven days. My doctor said it would fall off automatically within 21–30 days.

What about the pain?

The only discomfort I experienced was immediately after the surgery. Rather than pain, it felt like a burning sensation at the tip of my penis, which lasted around an hour and a half. After that, everything was fine, and the doctor allowed me to go home after I urinated.

The burning sensation was bearable. I think it might have been because I had already been experiencing a burning sensation in that area for a few days before the surgery, so it may not happen to everyone.

The surgery went smoothly, and I was out of the operating theatre within 10–15 minutes. From what I'd heard, the procedure usually takes around 2–5 minutes, so mine took a little longer.

The doctor said I could return to work the very next day, but I took one additional day off as a precaution. But I was feeling fine, perfectly even the very next day. Just minor hiccups during walking.

The doctor asked me to get the dressing changed for a week. Now, almost 12 days later, things feel completely normal. The ring is starting to loosen, and the wounds are healing. I'm still continuing my medication.

I only experience mild pain, like a small pinch on my penis, and that too only during an erection.

3. Cost

The ZSR 1 stapler procedure cost around $263–$316 USD (₹25,000–₹30,000), including medicines and reports. For the ZSR 2.0, the cost was around $411–$421 USD (₹39,000–₹40,000), including medicines and reports. I've shared rates accordingy to the country I reside in, India.

There are also Japanese staplers available, but whether a doctor offers them depends on availability. I haven't heard any reviews about them, though.

My friend and I underwent the procedures on the same day. He had paraphimosis, for which surgery was also recommended. That's how I came to know the prices of both the ZSR 1 and ZSR 2.0.

4. Things you cannot do during recovery

You should avoid masturbation, sex, and going to the gym for a month.

5. Should you get it done?

It depends on your condition. Get it checked by a doctor. If only part of your foreskin is causing trouble, there may be other ways to address it. Stretching may also help in some cases, based on what I've read on Reddit.

There wasn't much helpful information available online about this, and one or two posts were quite scary. That made me nervous, but my operation went smoothly. You won't feel anything during the procedure.

Final note

Look for a reliable surgeon in your city. The surgery can be performed by a general surgeon, or urologist. However, I've heard that counterfeit ZSR staplers are also available in the market, so make sure you choose a reliable doctor.

There are some doctors who receive their ZSR staplers directly from the company. You may be able to find them on the company's website.

I paid a little more because I didn't want to take any chances, given the severity of my condition.

Feel free to ask questions if you have any!

Question Red scabbing four weeks later on the underside? NSFW

Exactly as the title says; I'm about four weeks post surgery and while the scabbing on the top half of the suture line is fairly pale, the underside still has thicker deep crimson scabbing. It's not tender or causing pain and there's no puss or any other signs of infection. The remaining foreskin covers it up along with the rest of the suture line.

I'm just wondering is anyone else experienced this around the four week mark and, if so, how long it remained for and how it impacted the healing timeline and so on.
