Rule Clarification & Subreddit Direction
Hey everyone! We wanted to take a moment to clarify the purpose of the sub and address a few recurring topics. Nothing serious—just keeping the community focused and fun.
What This Sub Is For
This sub exists to share music from Christian artists—songs you enjoy, artists you think deserve more attention, and music that often gets overlooked or pushed aside elsewhere. The whole point is to highlight a niche that doesn’t get much space in mainstream music communities.
We’re not trying to gatekeep—just keeping the sub centered on its purpose so it stays useful for everyone.
About Playlists
Playlist posts have caused a lot of headaches. Many of them come from accounts that repeatedly repost the same Spotify lists (sometimes dozens of times), then get a Reddit Admin Ban and reappear under new names.
Because of that:
We limit playlist posts
We don’t allow full album links
We focus on individual songs or small selections you genuinely want to share
We get it—playlists are great for workouts, long drives, or office days. Occasional, playlists can be fine. But the mass reposting and promotional abuse is not. They’ve become one of the biggest sources of spam here, so we have to keep them under control.
AI Music
AI music is blowing up right now (the new gold rush,) but most AI-generated tracks come with no real info about who made them. There's no way to know the creator, their intentions, or even if it’s an actual artist at all.
To protect the sub’s focus:
We don’t allow AI-generated song submissions as posts or comments
If we’re unsure about an artist, we may ask for basic proof (promo materials, live shows, social presence) to confirm they’re real
Nothing against the tech—we just need clarity around who's posting to see if it aligns with the purpose of the sub.
Mainstream Artists
We’re all fans of big-name artists too, but this sub is meant to give smaller Christian artists a space to shine. Mainstream artists already dominate every other corner of the internet, so even if they release something “Christian-ish,” it’s usually not a fit for the sub’s focus.
Production, Selling, & Band-Finding Posts
This sub isn’t focused on:
- Music production questions
- Tutorials
- Selling merch, beats, or services
- “Looking for band members” posts
We don’t have the tools or structure to moderate those properly (specifically selling or band forming.) And the others go against the subs purpose. The only exception we’ve kept is crowdfunding from established artists—people whose work and identity we already know.
Church Music & Self-Promotion
This includes:
Church service recordings
Early demos
Rough home recordings
“Check out my new band” uploads
We appreciate the passion, but these are sometimes low-quality recordings, and first impressions matter—especially in a music discovery sub. Established artists sometimes share old demos, but that’s because they already have a fanbase who are passionate about them. It’s a niche within a niche.
If you’re working on your music, awesome! Just make sure it’s polished before posting it here.
Lastly, we are seeing self-promotion from real artists are posting covers of popular Christian songs just to get attention. Their history shows they’re not involved in Christian music—they’re just using the content to promote themselves. That’s not what this sub is for.
Thanks for Being Part of the Community
We love this sub and the people in it. Thanks for helping keep things focused, supportive, and a great place to discover new Christian artists. If you ever have questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out.

Looking for possible local Christian band, Tampa l/St Petersburg Fl circa 1998
This is a long shot but Reddit, you are my only hope.
There was a CD I had from around 1998. It was a CD I believe I won on Spirit FM night show with Rob Weyand. I have searched for over 25 years now trying to remember or find it.
As I said it was around 1998 on Rob Weyands show. I known he played it on the radio too. It was very ethereal dream pop sounding. I believe all male and maybe higher pitch voices? I don't remember anything heavy about the music. More floaty and ethereal.
The album cover featured girls (or young teens girls, or women) in white dresses or robes in a field. They were in a circle maybe holding hands or dancing. It had an early morning misty light quality. I believe it was in a regular plastic jewel case.
I have not been able to find rhis cover anywhere online. Ive searched many groups amd none sound familiar.
I am almost 100% sure it was a small group or local to the Tampa Bay St Petersburg area.
I dont think it is Painted Orange, Plankeye, Cloud2Ground, or the Echoing Green... but if you see or know something I might have missed it.
Please let me know if anyone remembers this! Please help this geriatric millennial remember!

Self Promotion Jay Squared - Calvary [Pop]
Hey everyone. Here’s another song from the collaborative album that I recently made with a few friends. The songs are based on literature published in the Snickle Journal, a magazine made for and by Catholic young adults. This track is inspired by Saint Faustina. Enjoy!

Convicted to let go of secular music but can’t listen to Christian music. Help
Hi all, need some advice (I also posted this on the AskAChristian sub)
I enjoy listening to music (particularly Ariana Grande) but Ive noticed that I get this really bad feeling in my heart whenever I listen to her, which i deem as actively being convicted to stop listening. BUT -
Christian music just sounds so bad compared to secular artists. It never never never hits the same. I gave a listen to Sarah Nathalie, and i can see why she is highly recommended, but i just had to turn it off after 5 mins. This goes the same for all Christian artists / music, not just her.
Some advice? What do I do in this situation?
1 more thing I forgot to mention: I listened to plenty of secular artists in the past, particularly Drake and PND, but I never really felt anything. Whenever I listen to Ari I feel like something is weighing on my heart, like something (the Holy Spirit I think) telling my body that this is not good for me

Christian Indie music on the rise?
I don’t know if it’s the fact that I’m sick of seeing the same five worship groups holding a monopoly on the Christian music, industry, or knowing that virtually all of them have had some major disgusting scandal behind closed doors… or maybe it’s just genuinely refreshing to see new people with new things to say… but it feels like people are starting to pay more attention to independent Christian artists these days… and I think that that’s a great thing, what do you guys think? I keep seeing artists like Shaun Jacobs coming up on my feed… and they keep having more and more interactions showing that they are building a following without having to sell out to the major labels. I also really appreciate the fact that Christian indie bands like Eyes On Eden aren’t trying to be Christian rock stars, they’re trying to be shepherds. I love seeing a Christian band that puts just as much time into discipleship and biblical teaching as they do their music. Am I just jaded and sick of the mainstream Christian music industry or are you guys seeing it too?

It's Electric (Can You Feel It?)
Does anyone remember the name of the Christian female group that sang It's Electric (Can You Feel It? It would have been around the late 90’s early 00’s. When I Google the lyrics a male singer comes up but that’s not who I’m thinking of.

Discussion Christian Shoegaze/Slowcore???
Can anyone give some Christian Shoegaze/Slowcore suggestions? I've listened to SF59's whole discography, so please do not recommend Starflyer lol. Other artists I've checked out are LN, Cool Hand Luke, Loud Harp, and Scream Dream. If you've never checked them out, Scream Dream is really good but has a limited discography.
Some of my favorite secular shoegaze/slowcore artists are DIIV, Bedlocked, True Widow, Title Fight, Narrow Head, and Ovlov if that helps
EDIT: Thanks for the rec's guys, I'll check it all out one by one then maybe do a review when I'm done

Kids Christian music album with sneaker on the cover?!
I keep remembering a Christian music album that I would listen to as a kid that had a sneaker stepping down on the cover. I don’t think anyone was wearing the shoe (at least you couldn’t see).
I think there was a fruit of the spirit song on it. The main song I remember is “what can separate us from the love of Christ, nobody Nutin”
I have SCOURED the internet and I’m at a LOSS!

Log/Speck In your Eye - Metal Song
Hey, I'm looking for a metal song about the topic of having a log or plank in your eye. Any suggestions? Metal songs can be either comical about the bible verse or serious. I just want to find some songs about it. Thanks!!

Discussion Can you help me to find others Christian dark r&b singers? 🤔
This is really specific, even more specific than other subgenres of music. Like ska punk, hyperpop, or grindgore. This is so specific that some of you don't know what it is. Dark r&b is a subgenre of R&B, when I think about dark r&b. I think about The Weeknd, The Weeknd do dark r&b. Dark r&b is a melancholic sad r&b. The videos are often in the night with a driving car, train, or just the city enlightened. I know only one who identifies as a Christian dark r&b singer, and this is Numbrs. And somes other that gives off vibes like that. Like NATA, Sven Loeb, Marv, Officially BKE. Of course they're r&b. But can you help me to find other Christian dark r&b singers? 🤔

Discussion I’m just going to say it: I MISS HILLSONG UNITED AND BETHEL MUSIC
2010s was the peak of worship music. Hillsong, Bethel, Housefires, Mosaic (first album), United Pursuit, Young & Free. Dare I go on?
Problematic church behavior aside, their music was really something.
I’ve been chasing that high ever since. All of the music released since that era has been so repetitive and bland, I can’t even listen to it and just find myself going back to these albums. Please help, what do you listen to nowadays?
