Just wanted to start by saying, I have asked the mods if I may post this and they have no issue with it, so here I go.

In early 2024, AI music was just starting to enter online consciousness. At the same time, I started considering that in a few years I would have to assist my daughter with her GCSEs. Then, as occasionally happens to everyone, I woke up one morning with an idea - an entire philosophy even - fully formed in my head:

1. The memorisation of facts had been unfairly maligned ("donkeys carrying books"). We need a base level of facts present in our minds, if we are to progress beyond
2. AI will hamper memorisation more than any other technology in human history, and so we are headed for an educational emergency the world over
3. But, a person never forgets a good song so if scientific data could be encoded in such a way, the words would be retained an entire lifetime
4. Were a teacher to then come and explain those words, there would be a permanent melding of memory and understanding
5. With sufficient complexity and widespread adoption, such songs could supercharge learning and negate the effect of AI on our ability and willingness to memorise scientific truths
6. They might be especially useful to the neurodiverse, who don't respond well to classroom textbook learning

Our education systems are set up to teach to the test. We memorise for them because we must, and a few weeks afterwards everything is forgotten. Few learn for the love of learning, which is regrettable because the universe is a very interesting place indeed. This project is intended to break that pattern. Unfortunately, the AI of the time and even that of today is unfit for writing science songs, as not enough of them exist in its training data, and those that do are rather basic. I therefore quickly shifted from asking AI to generate lyrics and then fixing them, to creating them myself and merely using AI as a 24/7 science consultant.

Suno has been my tool of choice. Despite its flaws, it is the best model available and, finally, here are the results - an entire GCSE course, in the form of song:

I heard this song last night (Sept. 12) at a live music club in Beijing, played by a cover band, and I’m trying to figure out what it is.
I don’t know the name of the band or the song, and I don’t speak Chinese, so I couldn’t make out the lyrics. I was told by a friendly local it’s a fairly well-known Chinese rock/pop-rock classic.

Does anyone recognize it? Would love to know the song title, the original artist and the cover band!
Also, I’m really curious about the lyrics — what is the song actually about? Does anyone know why people on stage are waving flags during the song? You can see it in the video. Is there some particular meaning or tradition behind it?

I’ve got these melody fragments stuck in my head from when I was a kid (early 2000s or earlier?), but my memory is fuzzy and I could only salvage part of these songs in terms of partial lyrics or tune sequences or both.
