So why are you playing it?

if you're a backer there's no reason not to log in now and then. the patch notes are pretty padded vs the visibility of development progress so keep that in mind. you also have to play during certain times of the testing weekends or there's no one around/everyone logged in is just grinding materials/etc.

there's really not a lot going on here. POIs that let you farm resources in the area. capturing keeps when it's working. very desync and rubber band heavy pvp. the hilarious LOS error bug. if you don't want to test would say let it cook but on the other hand if you want to know what people are arguing about on this subreddit don't take our word for it see for yourself. it is definitely very pre alpha tech demo concept though right now. and keep in mind when they finally achieve 24/7 uptime they will begin charging a subscription for access unless you backed a package with LTS.

I'm not sure I can answer that for you. There are definitely elements that are frustrating when they don't work, bugged Points of Interests (POI's) not switching or LOS working from the feet for example. But then a week later they will release a patch that will fix the POI's and alter the LOS mechanic. The game is fun when you get into a Warband and start playing pvp, leveling up and grinding professions less so - but they're the necessary evils in every mmo.

Once there is a RVR progression system in place I the game feel more complete, which is due in the current winter roadmap.

Personally I'm am enjoying getting to grips with the system and class mechanics, and getting a head start on the game.

Do u think it would ruin the game for me so to speak by being a tester?

But again you're referencing the past, I've only been playing the game for 4 months at best, what Ive seen in that time is rapid development.

"how can people complain about balance when many of the abilities don't Do Anything?" This tells me you don't play the game and you're just shitting on it.

RVR is fun.

borther they spent years doing pretty much nothing development wise. what they're doing right now is temporary and low effort at best.

not even 24/7 uptime. think about that. the major bugs that are in game now have been there for years untouched. and the changes happening now are surface level and low effort at best.

how can people complain about balance when many of the abilities don't Do Anything?

But its not, the game is 100% still in production, theyre constantly adding to the game and making changes and polishing.

Sure there are elements that need further refinement, rubberbanding, LOS, balance, game play loop. But they're actively engaging these issues every week.

But at least the claims on here that it is vapourware no longer stand up. Next to go will be that the game looks like its from the 90's, and some point you will see your first balance whine thread. At which point I will smile.

I get where you're coming from, and if people were promised refunds and didn't receive them, or felt misled, then I can understand why they'd still be upset. I'm not trying to minimise that.

At the same time, I'm trying to judge the game on what it is today rather than everything that's happened over the years.

From what I've seen recently, there seems to be constant progress in game, the testers are engaged, and the community is genuinely helpful. That doesn't erase past mistakes, but I guess I haven't been negatively impacted enough for me to want a DAOC successor to fail.

It's not a secret that most of us want the game to fail despite being heavily invested.

As much as I want a fun DAoC successor, the decisions that this studio has made are unforgivable.

• Withholding promised refunds • FS:R • The first Steam early access with limited playtime windows (imagine if this practice caught on) • Heavy moderation on all videos, streams, and forums

Can't wait to see it come crashing down

Ive tried to understand the hate, but I've given up, I almost think there is an ulterior motive at this point.

The game looks good, the lighting is getting constant tweeks and really elevates the feeling in the game.

There is constant change happening at the moment, with a very dedicated player base testing and reporting.

The game isnt quiet there yet, but its definitely getting there.

If you find your self in game and lost, just ask in chat, everyone is super helpful.

The game is going through lots of changes constantly, its fun to see the progress its making.

The action is fun, especially in groups. It takes a little to get into the game, but speak in chat and ask, everyone is super helpful.

letting archers use damage while moving, ruins this balance. I hated this part about WoW , also the reason the pvp didnt make sense in that game.

Are you trying to make the claim that ranged is always stronger than melee in WoW pvp due to their ability to do damage while moving? Extremely easy to verify that's not the case.

I actually like the way the game looks, it seems a bit slow, but I think I might have to actually get my self in to try the game at this point. I hope it's difficult to play, I'm bored of all the yellow do this and press this button now bs.

Also I don't understand the complaints ppl are making about it looking like it's from the 90`s. I actually enjoy it when an npc uses their entire body to point in whatever direction u need to go, it's nostalgic and funny. I like the stupid emotes , like when ur character jumps it's like a cat being scared in slow motion.

What I care about is game Play. So it's time to try I think

bro you literally commented on one of my posts on a different subreddit about my posts on a third subreddit. you've really lived up to your reputation so far and continue to do so. i see you're here just troll backers of this game so imma leave you to it.

also i've read the last 7 years of this subreddit including the deleted posts. so w/e dude. really not beating the allegations.

I do stand by my personal record. Which is why I find it so odd that you don't have any idea what that personal record is - yet you are fine with criticizing a fantasy version of it.

bruh i'm not gonna stalk your profile like you have mine. you can either stand by the record of your actions or not that's up to you and is a personal choice.

If I'm famous among the people that got themselves banned - cool. Doesn't change facts. Which one did I get wrong, specifically? Got a link to the "astro turfing"?

i didn't imply he was making good choices. or that he was making money off youtube itself yet.

i'm sorry you can't see what's immediately obvious. anyways have a nice life.

edit: it's not even any accusations here. just observing the obvious and asking what the incentive is. this is a reasonable question to ask in this specific scenario. it's not a conspiracy theory like "the donald" is harassing this game or it's devs lmao.

If he’s doing what you’re accusing him of doing, he’s dumber than you are.

Fortunately for him, that’s not what’s happening. The data doesn’t even support it.

AI truly can’t replace morons like you fast enough in our society.
