Don't know the name of this formation, but wanted to share here anyway.

The first photo was taken not too long after sunrise. The others were in the afternoon.

Driving from Albuquerque to West Pheonix with my family and caught an apricot sunset crowned by crepuscular rays that shone with incandescence. It was the perfect sunset to end a week of travel for our wedding. Finally coming home to Satan's butthole: Phoenix.

I knew the sunset was gonna be baller, so keeping an eye on the sky was easy being behind the wheel. Anyway, after rubber necking the clouds and endangering my wife and child I asked my wife to snap a few photos over a span of ~7 minutes. If you look at the top right I think you can see Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds beginning to form and mature.

Thought you guys might like this, just off I40 outside of Phoenix. It could also be the changing orientation and perspective of the clouds that make it seem like they're developing more than they are.

Saw this cool cloud on the way home yesterday. Top two pictures are from my passenger princess angle, the third is from our front yard. I didn’t think we were still going to be able to see it from our house. Nice surprise.
