We're now doing verified owner flairs! Post here to get them!
BEFORE SUBMITTING PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE REQUIREMENTS! YOU NEED A PHYSICAL NOTE INCLUDED, NOT JUST A PICTURE OF YOUR CAT.
Hello! To make things a bit easier, when it comes to proving who's the real owner of a said cat, we're introducing verified flairs.
Simply post a picture of your cat with a small physical note that includes your username (like a post-it note), and you will get assigned your own flair with the name of your cat(s).
(Remember that it has to be a physical note, post it, or similarly).
You can post here or send me a modmail and I'll get you verifying you asap!

Apparently my Golden Retriever ordered himself a tiny British shorthair sister 🫪
Muffin is my first cat ever.
We’re in the SFO area, and she came all the way from Tesoro British Cattery in New York with a nanny.
I joined their waitlist back in October 2025, and I didn’t even see Muffin for the first time until June 2026. So yeah, it was definitely a wait. 😂 I also had a pretty specific list, which probably didn’t make things any easier for my breeder.
We already have a Golden Retriever, so my girlfriend and I really wanted a golden colored British Shorthair that would kind of match him. But more importantly, we cared a lot about temperament.
Since I had never owned a cat before and already had a big dog at home, I was honestly pretty nervous about whether they would get along. I didn’t want a kitten that would be scared of him or constantly stressed out.
So I decided to wait for the right one instead of rushing.
Then I first saw Muffin in June, and she ended up being exactly what I had been waiting for. It wasn’t just the color either. Sophia had written me a really detailed description of her personality, and we FaceTimed so I could actually see her and get a feel for what she was like. That was when I started thinking, okay… this might actually be the one.
When she finally flew from New York to California, I expected her to hide for a while after such a long trip.
Nope. 😂
She came out, started exploring the house, came right up for attention, and was basically comfortable with me right away. I could pick her up, hold her, kiss her, whatever. It honestly felt like she had already been living here for months.
About a week later, I slowly started introducing her to my Golden Retriever. That was probably the part I was most nervous about, and somehow it went way better than I expected too.
Sophia helped me a lot throughout the whole process, especially because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing as a first-time cat owner. 🤣
Now when I see these two together, it’s kind of funny how much I worried about it.
Muffin seems completely comfortable around him, and I’m pretty sure she thinks the giant dog just came with the house. I honestly don’t think I could have gotten luckier.

What colour is my BSH?
I got smokey from my coworker last year and I’ve never been good at this stuff so maybe someone here could tell me? I feel like he’s a tabby but not too sure.

I can’t tell if she wants me to get off my switch or she wants to play with it. Either way, she’s too cute!!
don’t worry i came right off and gave her all the snuggles she demanded 😅 i think i might officially have the clingiest BSH ever. what a blessing.

Cat peeing in my bed
I have a 13w british shorthair who mostly lives in living room. never ever peed on a couch. i kept him out of my bedroom, becaude he was disturbing my sleep. I once let him in in the morning, first thing he did peed on my bed!!!! i thought it was accident and litterbox was far away. Imagine several weeks later i was like okay lets give it a try and let you in, 5 min on my bed and peed again!!!! He is completely healthy. Whats the reason for that
