I'm a complete beginner who recently got into reading, so I'm still exploring this whole bookish world and figuring out what I enjoy.

I'm mostly interested in nonfiction — books that teach me something, help me understand people and the world better, or give me a new perspective on life.

But I'm not completely against fiction! If you're the kind of person who gets ridiculously enthusiastic about fictional characters, and makes me feel like I'm missing out on the greatest story ever written, there's a good chance you'll convince me to read it. 😂 I'm very much open to being influenced by passionate readers.

I'm looking for a book buddy who can guide me as I explore reading, recommend books, exchange thoughts, and have those discussions.

I'm just hoping to meet someone curious, open-minded, and enthusiastic about sharing what they love. We can learn things together, disagree about ideas, exchange recommendations, and hopefully become good friends along the way.

I'm not really a bookstagrammer, but I came across a bookstagrammer's account and I'm really surprised she has only 1200 followers. I took only a quick look and watched just two of her reviews (she posts reels), but from what I saw, I think bookstagrammers would enjoy following her.

I’ve been reading a lot of classics lately and am torn between a fantasy read or another Steinbeck novel. I’ve not heard much about The Pearl. I just finished Station Eleven so that’s why Mandel is in the shelf. Too many choices 😅

Hi everyone i am looking for a book i saw about a month ago on Instagram,

she was promoting her book and the book was about a student having a solved criminal case as her thesis (or something similar, English is not my first language and the post was in englisch so I just remember it being a big paper for her studies) and basically coming to the conclusion that they put the wrong man away and then one of the professors (again could be something similar) that had to grade the paper was actually one of the lawyers (or judges?) That put the man away. She didn't get her diploma and moved on with her life and then the killer strikes again and she is forced to try to figure out who this killer is and along side her is the professor / lawyer that let her fail before and they fall in love.

I didn't safe the post bc the book was only on amazon and I don't have a Kindle. Now I found out that you can download the Kindle app and read the books on your phone so I want to actually read this book if anyone would know what it is called?

I'm looking for my book people! The ones who get ridiculously attached to fictional characters, have a TBR that's completely out of control, and somehow keep finding MORE books to add to it.
But seriously, I love getting to know people, laughing, being a little sarcastic, and having actual conversations.

I think one of the best things about books is how they bring complete strangers together. Two people can live completely different lives and still find something they connect with through the same story. I absolutely love that. 🖤

Salve. Sono un'autrice emergente, ho da poco autopubblicato la mia raccolta di poesie ma raggiungere lettori per me è impossibile (e non sto esagerando). Vorrei contattare bookstagrammer e magari inviare loro le mie copie cartacee, ma ci tengo che sia gente onesta, sinceramente interessata e che possa davvero potenzialmente portarmi lettori e recensioni organiche per far crescere un po' la reputazione del libro, che al momento sta sotto zero. Il problema è che l'algoritmo mi fa vedere bookstagrammer che recensiscono romanzi e dato che la poesia può non piacere a tutti, mi chiedevo se qualcuno potesse consigliarmi profili (o anche gruppi all'infuori di Instagram, tipo qui su Reddit) che facciano al caso mio.

sorry if this is not the right subreddit, but i have heard two words a lot on the internet "bookstagram" and "booktok" what exactly are they? like a online book club where people discuss what are reading and talk about books or like is it for buying and selling books, what exactly can anyone help?

I created a bookstagram account a couple of weeks ago and I have been pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the community is. I used to post a lot of reviews on Goodreads and a blogspot blog a few years back but gradually the reviewing dwindled down to nothing as life happened. I still read a lot and record all my thoughts in journals, but I realised that I missed engaging with fellow readers and yapping and obsessing about books. So I decided to give bookstagram a try and it has been a blast so far.

The sheer joy of connecting with people who have crazy amounts of love for the same books or authors that you do or discovering new authors or genres is unparalleled. I’m positively giddy lol.

I don't normally post on reddit but i really need some advice on this...

I started a bookstagram in June and it was going pretty good, but I lost motivation and got busy so I didn't post for like two months.

Now that I'm back, NONE of my posts are getting any interactions or even views. I'm posting the same way I was before when I would get 30-40 likes per post but now I just get 1-2

I joined on July 4th (ironic but I’m not American sooo) and I somehow got roped into ARCs and have found such amazing books and authors. So if someone’s debating on it, this is your sign! The debut authors are killing it and I’ve loved almost 80% of what I’ve read.

That being said, it’s mostly a review account but the engagement is atrocious. I need to pick up more ideas once I start getting through my TBR and gobbling up book after book.

I’m confused between Fourth Wing, Caraval and Shatter me. Somehow kept myself spoiler-free. (ik ik. I’m pretty proud of myself 😂)
