OOAK/ Customs Handpainted Ken "chucks"
One of the Barbie movie Kens came with white converse-style sneakers, so I used Mr. Super clear between coats of acrylic paint. I think they look pretty good!

Hey Barbie Fam!
The poll results are in, and this October we're going to be blending high fashion with Halloween for our theme, Spooky Coutoure.
The interpretation of this one is up to each of you, and I'm excited to see your results!
To participate, take pictures of your doll(s) this month following the theme, and post your pics to our subreddit using the "Doll Of The Month" flair (it makes it easier for us to find your posts when you use the DOTM flair!).
If you have any suggestions for future themes, drop those in the comments below!
Thank you, and have fun! 👻🎃

Since it is a repetitive type of question on our Barbie subreddit I’ve decided to make this guide and recommendation what you can do if you are looking for a made to move body matches:
Before you make a post about a certain doll, try to look it up first here on Reddit with the “Search r/Barbie” button on the top of the page. It looks like a little magnifying glass. If you type f.e. “Rebody Odile” many post discussing this subject will pop up.
There is always THE CHART. Yes, sometimes it can be hard to navigate, maybe especially when you are at the very beginning and don’t have many dolls to actually compare skin tones with. But for me it was always a good guide and I’ve found my first made to move body match there and I’ve done over 80 of them now.. and also a little tip for those who search for different body types - this chart contains also OG, pivotal, model muse and other body types on the left side of each slide, so you can use it as a guide for other body types too.
If you are in doubt there is always this amazing Facebook group. Many dolls have been discussed there, I usually also only use Find on page button (it is a little bit hidden in the picture of made to move dolls), or occasionally make a post. It is a dedicated page just for the matches, so it makes a lot of sense to ask questions there.
This community is amazing and one fan even created their own website with made to move body matches. It is here. I’ve never been using it much, as two previous strategies usually work for me, but if there are any other useful websites feel free to share those with us in comments.
Look at your dolls: As I’ve build my collection I find it more easy to navigate for the skin tone and perfect body match - I can compare dolls I have, go back to the chart to confirm and then buy a certain doll.
That’s probably all my tips for hunts for the best skin tones and perfect bodies for our dolls. If you have other useful strategies, websites please feel free to share.
Sometimes it gets frustrating as not all dolls have available made to move matches considering the skin tones and sometimes the second hand market prices for certain dolls (it gets $$$).
Asking for made to move matches is not forbidden here, sometimes we are looking for inspiration and it can be fun to ask for pictures of certain dolls on different bodies or restyles, but if the doll is trending now it was probably already discussed and it is more prudent to use 🔍 button.

She was missing a couple of plugs in the front. Was going to harvest some dark brown hair from a 90s Kira but instead went for a 00s blonde Barbie.
I think she gives off a Stacey London/ Michelle Visage vibe now and I’m super into it! :D

I think this came out fairly decent for something I was doing as a joke haha. If there was a way to replicate this with something smaller so that waves come out a more realistic size that would be so cool. Ooooh maybe cutting the fingers off a glove would work!

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨
Juan Gabriel Barbie doll, CM Odile sculpt, rerooted and restyled.
✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨
To combat creative burnout, I’ve started recreating looks from my inspiration board using pieces already in my collection.
My inner critic initially called it "cheating," but honestly, this has been a refreshing way to rediscover my creativity.
It’s been a fun, challenging exercise sourcing items from my collection to match or reinterpret the original looks while letting go of the pressure of needing "original ideas."

I’m so stoked, got most of these off a local marketplace! Ken was in his box still but I couldn’t resist the urge to open him 🫣
Just the little Kelly dolls to go now!

I got them in box but like them more deboxed, Barbie for 25€ and Brooklyn for 35€! Had to get them online, where I live Brooklyn is non-existent in stores, and Barbie is still priced 80€ even after 2 years on the shelves 🫠 I love them so much, they are so cute together 🥹 I'm thinking of cutting the plastic straps and if necessary gluing the top so it doesn't slide down.

ℹ️ In the USA, usually a Barbie Style doll retails ~$10.5 with taxes. The federal minimum wage over there is $7.25 per hour. Putting taxes aside, in this case the person should have to work for ~1h 41min. 🇺🇸
The math is 7.25÷10.5= ~0.69, 0.69×60= ~41. 1h — $7.25, 0.69h/41min — 10.5–7.25= $3.25
The wage is $1160/month if it's based on 160 hours worked.
In my country those dolls cost equivalent to $18.5 each and for me, I have to work ~3 hours to be able to buy one.

My mom was so strict on me opening certain Barbie’s “because they will be valuable in 50 years!”
Turns out these dolls end up rotting in a box since they value at around 10-30 dollars!
I decided that it’s finally time to unbox this 2009 Barbie
She looks wayyy better out of box!

I literally missed out on this doll at Ross during the Christmas Holidays last year, and I'm glad someone was able to donate her.

A few years ago, I finally got the Sabrina the Teenage Witch doll I had always wanted she was in box and came with Salem, rebodied her onto a MTM Barbie body, replaced her melted shows with similar live action Ariel boots, then I got the winking Harvey Kinkle and found him an outfit. Recently I decided she needed Aunt Zelda and Hilda so I got the Hollywood Cast Barbie to be Zelda because she looks like her I think, and I used the Hallmark Holiday Memories Barbie for Aunt Hilda and found them outfits inspired by their looks in the show. Plus bonus a Sabrina Spellman based on the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Barbie Basics wave 1 head, Teela Barbie Body with most of the outfit from the Theodora Disney Store doll.

In my efforts to get a Nutcracker 25th Clara doll with no defects, I have purchased quite a few and through this I have discovered two separate batches of dolls, both made in Indonesia, and they seem to have slightly different coloring in terms of makeup and clothing.
I’m sure there are MANY other batches with slight differences, but these are the two I have seen out of the dozen of Clara dolls I have looked at in person.
Batch 184611 has cooler toned makeup and darker lips. She also tends of have lower eyebrows with an inward tilt, though you can also find ones with better eyebrows than others. Her eyes are, on average, closer together than the other batch. Her hairline rooting also tends to be a bit wonkier.
Batch 135612 tends to have warmer makeup that is a bit paler, especially the lips and brows. Her brows tend to be higher and straighter on average compared to batch 184611. Her hairline tends to be cleaner. She overall looks a bit more like Clara, to me, still not identical to any variant of the original Clara.
184611’s outfit overall seems, very very slightly, cooler in tone than 135612. Her bodice ruffle is shorter on average as well.
135612 has an ever so slightly warmer toned outfit, and her bodice ruffle is longer on average.
184611’s Tiara is cooler in tone; a cooler paler shade of gold and almost lilac details instead of pink, while 135612’s is a warmer gold with pinker details. It's still not as warm or pink as the original Clara, but it's definitely much closer than the other batch!
The boxes are also slightly different colors, but this doll's box is ugly no matter what to me lol
I have an added a picture of the batch number on each doll’s shipper as well as where it is embossed on the doll’s box.
Just as with any mass produced doll, there is still some variation within each batch; some with closer together eyes, some with lower or higher brows, some with darker or paler lips, but on average you can expect batch 184611 to have a darker/cooler lip and 135612 to have a paler/warmer lip, a cooler vs warmer tiara, etc etc. There are exceptions to every rule! I have two from batch 184611 that are very gorgeous and I have seen ones from 135612 that look horrible, but they all in general have those same differences in color.
I have no idea which batch came first, nor do I know which one you will get from which retailer (probably 50/50), please don’t ask me lol
(adding screenshots from my second Instagram account because otherwise I would have to add the text on each picture all over again lol)

Love my new Lenny Kravitz doll with the exception of 1) his original sunglasses (I know, I’m in the minority), and 2) his drapey metallic copper top. Substituted a pair of Zuri Mini Brands RayBan-style sunglasses and my Asian Kira’s BMR1959 jean jacket. I gave Lenny’s top to Nichelle from Barbie Basics Neutral Kit 001; it looks a whole lot better on her. I think they make a very cute couple!

Found this Barbie doll I had as a kid, I thought this was interesting to share. The difference in quality is astounding, thicker fabric and you can feel the material is smooth. Not cheap, like other dolls. She also is battery operated too, lights up.

I know, she has a forehead on her, BUT I WANTED HER THAT WAY!!! And she is as beautiful as I imagined 😍
