Redesign & Art Deco/Streamline Style: Remodeled from 1921 to 1923 by architect Erich Mendelsohn (with interior design contributions by Richard Neutra). Mendelsohn added dynamic, futuristic horizontal window bands, ferro-concrete upper storeys, aluminum accents, and a dramatic cantilevered corner that gave the building a sense of motion

I had been looking for an art deco chiffrobe for a while. At $250 and the shape it's in I'm very happy. I particularly love the handles.

It is part of my grandparents house. And the part below it in wood was redone in the 90s. I've always felt it was vaguely art deco but wasn't sure.

Picked up this beauty from a charity shop and it arrived at my house today.

I spent two hours removing a hundred years’ worth of coal fire smoke, candle drips, beeswax polish, after dinner cigarette residue, spilt wine etc.

May favourite feature is the adjustable shelf system - and the pretty inlay on the shelf edges. I also love the off-set profile of the doors when they are fully closed.

We won’t be using the mirror as our record player will be sitting on top, but will put it safely away in the attic for resilvering if we ever decide to use it.

If anyone in SE London is in need of a bargain dining table and chairs (presumably from the same estate clearance) then DM me and I’ll let you know which charity shop!
