Hello community! ❤
We are currently working towards improving the sub. Our goal is to have better engagement and professional environment that also helps newcomers to archviz. To achieve this, we are adding some guidelines and rules to enhance interactions and posts. Additionally we will be implementing challenges! 😁
Technical and profesional question: Use this flair if you want to ask specific questions like: "how to create this material?", "what's the necessary hardware for...?", "What can I charge for this...?". Use it when you want to learn how to solve some specific issue, improve as a professional,
I need feedback: Use this flair when you have a render that you might want to improve or not sure it if looks good enough, but you don't have a specific question about it like "how to?"
Share work: Maybe you want to share your latest work or some of your portfolio works, but you don't necessarily are asking for feedback.
Discussion: Use this flair to engage in conversation with the sub community. The main difference with technical and professional flair is that you want to know opinions and pov rather than solve a question or an issue. Example: "Current state of the archviz profession".
Challenge: We are going to be implementing challenges. When participating you should use this flair to post your work.
In simple terms: don't be lazy. If you want other people to take time to read or provide feedback or help you, then you should take your time too. Any post that's considered lacking in context will be deleted,
More or less, thinking on categories/types of posts: and some considerations
PORTFOLIO (show work | I need feedback):
❌Post a portfolio image that's a link to website/portfolio
✔Post image/s with a description that includes a link or a comment with a link to your portfolio.
❌When you add link in comment or description: redirects to personal website
✔When you add link in comment or description: redirects to known platform like Behance, Artstation and so on...
NEED FEEDBACK / TECHNICAL QUESTION / SHOWING WORK:
❌An image and or a question without proper context
✔Any post, regardless if it's a question, showing work, or asking feedback, should include:
⚠ This is a case by case. Sometimes if the questions is very specific and well presented you might not need an image.
CREDIT AUTHOR:
❌Post an image without credit the author
✔Post image with credit of the author or studio or artist taken from.
While we won't enforce this, we ask if possible, when working from a reference, add credit to the author, architect, studio, artist, that created said reference
JUST DON'T
❌Self promotion
❌Selling assets
❌Selling courses
❌Post that consist of external links to websites
❌Piracy
⚠ This sub shouldn't be a marketplace. If your products are good enough, people should be able to find you trough the proper platforms. We also can't be checking every link to make sure it doesn't redirect to any malicious site.
OTHER TYPES OF POST
❌Post that don't have anything to do with archviz or related to.
✔We do encourage post that improve discussion even if not directly related to archviz. For example: Architecture, styles, animation techniques, photography. ONLY under the terms that can help a 3d artist improve in archviz.
We want to improve the quality of the sub. We have noticed many posts lack any context or sufficient information yet ask for feedback. Posts that are simply ads, and so on. On the long run, those types of posts and interactions tend to be detrimental to any sub. We understand that many of these changes may or may not work, and so we will be open to seeing how they are received, and change if needed.

Hi guys!
At the end of May, I started practicing with Blender, focusing on exterior architectural visualization, and I really enjoyed it! Since I live in a post-Soviet country, I spent a lot of time modeling prefabricated “commie blocks“, often without blueprints, simply by referencing real-life examples. I soon realized that I could take things further by creating designs for new residential developments, so I set a goal to break into this niche.
Starting in August, I began learning D5 and also completed two full-scale projects for my portfolio (both entirely conceived by me - it was incredibly difficult).
In September, I started trying to find clients and companies via email and similar channels, offering standard renders as well as the interactive features available in D5; I received only one response. Now I’m looking on LinkedIn and Fiverr, but the conversion rate is terrible there, too.
The worst part is that I actually like this niche, but AI scares the hell out of me—the way it’s nipping at my heels. Even though I basically learned the ropes thanks to it (shoutout to Gemini guides), it’s incredibly painful when you’re young and find your niche, only to be terrified that it could go dead within just a few years.

As an interior designer using Blender, I got tired of the headache turning flat fabric scans into true-scale PBR materials. I built a custom tool to fix it.
What’s your current go-to workflow for clean texture maps?

Hey guys,
I've been working in ArchViz for over 20 years, mainly with 3ds Max and Corona.
I've been trying to get new clients lately, reaching out to studios, architects and developers, but honestly, it's been pretty hard. Not getting many replies, and I'm starting to wonder what actually works these days.
I'm based in Argentina, working with clients worldwide. I do interiors, exteriors, aerials, animations, and real estate marketing visuals. I'm also getting more into AI and video.
To be honest, I really need to bring in some new projects right now, and I'd love to hear from people who are going through the same thing or have figured out a way to get more consistent work.
Where are you guys finding clients? Emails, Instagram, LinkedIn? Is there anything that's actually working for you?
I'm looking just some real advice from people in the field.
And of course, if anyone needs help with projects, I'm open to working together.
Here's my work: www.instagram.com/jaguar3d.visuals
Thanks, guys. Appreciate any advice.

Been testing AI on some of my 3ds Max work. Here’s the original render alongside the AI version.

Hello, yesterday I finished the modeling of the house. apply some fast lights and materials just as an example, what can I improve? the lights are bad but especially how can I generate textures that do not feel repetitive, this in D5., I use PBR textures

Just sharing aa project I completed towards the end of last year. I built everything in 3DS Max, seen in the 360 tour on the project link (added a day and night setting too). I started exploring with animating the rendered images using AI to give faster results and in some cases I think the people react and engage with the scene better than Anima4D or rigged people do. What does everyone think here? Would you use the image to video AI tools to speed your animation timelines along while still having the control over your images within the model?

Like many people in this community, I’m amazed at the new AI modelling capabilities with ChatGPT 6 Astra.
https://pixelspaces.co.uk/projects/yarrow
I’ve recently had a client who needed marketing content for a wedding barn which is being built along with on site premium camping. I initially quoted based on capturing drone footage of the environment, building the whole scene, camera matching the footage etc. They had a small budget (obviously) and we don’t want to turn away work, which gave me the challenge of testing Astra to model, hopefully cutting down some of the time to match with the budget.
This method would still give me the control over the texturing, lighting and camera angles, giving me more time to produce visuals and animations under the budget costs and timelines. Take a look at the full project in the link provided. Happy to discuss the workflow further - I didn’t model a thing! - Not saying this should be used instead of typical workflows, I just adapted to an opportunity provided to me.
Software used: AutoDesk 3DS Max with Chaos V-Ray renderer | Blender | Magnific AI | Adobe Photoshop | Adobe After Effects | ChatGPT
Also - this is my first Reddit post so please be kind and give any advice if I’ve missed anything vital!

I've built a simple prototype and this looks like a viable product(lol). What I can't figure out is how does the data look like coming from the architect and developers? Do you have to rebuild from scratch? Do they give out the measurements? I understand I can use datasmith to transfer from 3ds or revit but how painful is it? How do I test the pipeline with real projects?
Most of it are re-useable and template-ty.
