How do you get customers to use payroll once you've added it to your platform?

• Upvotes

We're looking at adding payroll to our platform but something I've been thinking about is what happens when the feature is finally available. Just because customers already use our software doesn't mean they'll want to move their payroll over. They might be happy with their current provider or simply not want to deal with switching. We could make onboarding easier, offer it to new customers first or give existing customers a reason to try it but I'm not sure which approach would make the biggest difference.

For anyone who's launched an additional financial feature inside their SaaS, what helped get customers to use it instead of sticking with what they already had?

[Android beta] Mortar Aid: a free companion for PUBG PC and consoles, seeking usability feedback

Hi! I built Mortar Aid, a free, unofficial Android companion for PUBG on PC and consoles, and I'm looking for early users to help improve it.

The app lets you place a mortar and targets on offline maps, then calculates the sight setting, bearing and flight time while accounting for terrain elevation. Other features include a slope overlay, moving-target calculations, saved positions and match lookup.

I'm most interested in whether a new user can place and edit targets without getting stuck, whether the map controls are comfortable on a phone, and whether you encounter lag, layout issues or crashes. You don't need to launch PUBG to try it.

We have 5 people in the Google Play closed test and would appreciate at least 7 more. To join, use the same Google account throughout:

  1. Join our Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/mortaraid-testers
  2. Tap Become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.mortaraid.app
  3. Install the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mortaraid.app

Please remain opted in for 14 consecutive days and use the app periodically during that time. Share honest feedback here or in the Google Group. If something breaks, please include your phone model, Android version and what you were doing.

Three screenshots (calculator, vehicle controls and match search) are attached to my post here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/betatests/comments/1x6v7nb/android_mortar_aid_looking_for_feedback_on_a_free/

Thanks for helping me make it better!

Looking for testers: free notification gateway (Discord, Telegram, ntfy, Gotify, Slack and 80+ more), most channels never tested against a real service

• Upvotes

Disclosure: I work on UnitySVC, and this is our service. Notification channels are free to use.

What I need

We built a gateway that sends notifications to 80+ services. Every channel passes our automated tests, but those run against simulated endpoints. Almost none have delivered to a real service yet, and each one shows an "Unverified" tag on the list until it does.

If you use any of these services, sending one test message and telling me whether it arrived, and whether it looked right, would help a lot. A channel's "Unverified" tag clears on its own within a few hours of its first real delivery, so every test counts.

I'm especially looking for people who use:

  • Gotify, ntfy, Home Assistant, Nextcloud Talk, Zulip, Matrix, Synology Chat
  • Telegram, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Pushover
  • an SMS or email provider (Twilio, Mailgun, SendGrid, …)

How to test (about 5 minutes)

  1. Sign up and create an API key.
  2. Store the target service's credentials once (webhook URL parts, bot token, server URL and so on). Each channel's page lists what it needs.
  3. Send a message:

curl https://api.svcpass.com/labs/msg-to-discord \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $UNITYSVC_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"title":"Test","body":"hello from the gateway","type":"info","format":"text"}'

Swap msg-to-discord for the channel you're testing. Bonus points for trying "format":"markdown", a long message, or an empty title, since that's where formatting tends to break.

What it is, briefly

One API key and one Apprise-style message format (title, body, type, format) for all of these services. The gateway converts each message to the service's native API and delivers it directly; there's no Apprise server behind it. Extras: a broadcast group to send to up to 10 destinations at once, and an SMTP gateway for apps that can only send email.

Honest limits

  • It's hosted, not self-hostable. The service definitions are open on GitHub.
  • You're trusting us with credentials. Until you know us better, use revocable ones, such as a webhook, a bot token, or an app token for a test channel.
  • It covers services reachable with a plain HTTP request, so it's a subset of what Apprise supports.

How to report

A comment here is perfect, including "worked fine". You can also use our Discord or a GitHub issue. If a channel is broken, I'll fix it and reply here.

Thanks!

[Web] Looking for 10 testers: short interactive lessons from random fields, picked for you daily

• Upvotes

I’m building Noema. Every day you get 3 short interactive lessons (physics, history, biology, money...) and it learns from what you finish and skip. What I need: try one lesson, tell me where you got bored or confused. Takes like 10-15 min. Honest “this is boring” is more useful to me than “looks cool”. Happy to test yours back. noemacreate.org

[Beta] [Web] Learna — AI tutor for TK–8 math & reading that teaches instead of answer-dumping. Looking for parent testers.

• Upvotes

Hi! I'm a parent and engineer. I built Learna because my kid needed homework help at 8pm and everything I tried either handed over answers or felt unsafe to leave a kid alone with.

What it is: a school-safe AI tutor for TK–8 math and English. Kids chat with a friendly animal tutor that teaches through hints and never just gives answers. Parents get a dashboard showing what their child is learning, plus daily AI limits and subject controls.

Stage: private beta, free. The core loop works — tutor chat with safety guardrails, practice bank, reading shelf with quizzes, parent dashboard. Still rough around the edges, which is exactly why I'm here.

Looking for: parents of TK–8 kids willing to have their child try 2–3 sessions this week and tell me what broke or confused them. Especially useful if your kid struggles with math homework or is a reluctant reader.

If you're in: https://forms.gle/mnaFQfXPLeDxZwqA8

Happy to answer questions here. And if you've got something of your own in beta, drop it — I'll return the favor and test it.

[Android alpha] Looking for Android usability feedback on a free 3D vehicle-reference app

• Upvotes

I’m building Sonata Engine Explorer under WrenchHarbor Studio, and version 1.4.4 is available in a Google Play closed alpha. I’d appreciate ordinary usability feedback: is the first screen understandable, are the controls easy to tap, and can you find a component without getting lost?

It includes an interactive 3D vehicle and component references. It is free, with no ads or in-app purchases. Play currently estimates a 13.2 MB download. It needs Android 8 or newer and a compatible WebView/WebGL2 implementation.

If you genuinely want to try it, privately email wrenchharborstudio.support@gmail.com with the Google Play account email you consent to have added to the tester list. Please don’t post that address in comments. Once added, enroll here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.sonata.engineexplorer

Google requires a qualifying 14-day continuous opt-in period; feedback and use should be voluntary. There are no requested ratings, purchases, or test exchanges. This is an independent app, not affiliated with Hyundai. Model and repair-reference coverage is incomplete; no work on a real car is requested.

[Mac + iPad/phone] Beta is open: setlist controller for bands running Ableton Live on stage

The beta is open to everyone now, no sign-up needed.

What it is: Downstage lets a band run its Ableton Live set from an iPad or phone at the front of the stage. Tap a song or section, it waits for the bar line, and Live jumps on the beat. Everyone in the band can see what’s next on their own phone (iPhone or Android).

Who I’m looking for: bands or MDs who play to backing tracks and click in Ableton Live 11 or 12 on a Mac. Ideally you have a rehearsal or gig coming up.

What I’m asking: set it up with your real set (about 10 minutes), use it at a rehearsal or gig, and tell me what broke or confused you.

What you get: free use during the beta, and I’ll fix things fast. Happy to help you set it up on a quick call.

No Max for Live needed. Download: downstageapp.com/go/rd

Juxtah (iOS, free): saves places from TikTok/Instagram and alerts you when you're near them. Looking for testers

• Upvotes

Hi all, I’m Dane, solo dev. I built Juxtah because I had hundreds of saved TikToks and Reels of places I wanted to go and never went to any of them (I travel a lot and never visit places from my social media saves).

What it does: share a TikTok or Instagram post to Juxtah, it finds the places in the post (including from the video itself), pins them on your map, and sends a notification when you’re near one later.

What I'd like to know from your tests:

  1. Do the right places come out of the posts you share? (Where it gets it wrong is the most useful thing you can tell me.)
  2. Do the nearby alerts fire at sensible times, or do they get annoying?
  3. Is anything confusing in the first two minutes?

Cost: free to download, and the free tier is enough to test everything above. You can do 5 successful social share extractions and up to 100 manual search and save locations.

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6745111540?pt=127720044&mt=8&ct=reddit

I’ll reply to everything here. Blunt feedback is welcome.

[Web, Beta] Your Next Movie: a 2-minute quiz that maps your movie taste and tells you what to watch

• Upvotes

I'm a solo maker and this is in beta.

You answer 12 quick questions, like slow burn vs. fast-paced or sunlit vs. pitch black. It gives you a taste profile, one of 120 taste types, and three film picks. Then you can swipe through posters to build a watchlist you can share, and every pick shows where it's streaming.

It's free, with no ads and no signup: yournextmovie.app

I'd love to know if your taste type felt accurate and if anything broke on your phone. Thanks for trying it!

Finally vibe coded a micro-saas around an in-house trained diffusion model for attention prediction

• Upvotes

I have spend a year trying to train a diffusion model (from scratch) using PyTorch and 1.3M interaction points I've managed to acquire. Finally Codex 5.3 helped me solve a bug and make the trained model produce meaningful heatmaps from an arbitrary image.

So finally last weekend claude generated the service around the model. Webapp, landing page, supabase DB schema, edge functions + AWS lambda wrapper for the model processing. I had only to configure the domain, oauth and stripe integrations. Getting the project over the line was a smooth ride after getting the model training working.

About the service:
It can generate a heatmap predicting the attention based on arbitrary image (UI, Ad or some other visual content). In addition, the generated heatmap is then passed to Opus 5.5 to generate an individual report from a template.

Looking for feedback, ideas and your stories on getting a project over the line and finally getting it online after long time of frustration (getting the training to work for me).

DM me your email after you've registered and I can add some credits for initial testing of the service.
Link to the service:

[Web app] Tip Pool Calculator: 2-minute usability test, free unlock for testers

• Upvotes

I'm a restaurant worker. I made this, but need fresh eyes on it: https://apps.paperskaterhq.com/tippool/

It splits a restaurant shift's pooled tips and shows who got what.

Sample scenario (about 2 minutes): $480 in tips, split among 3 servers, 1 busser, and 1 bartender.

Afterward, tell me:

  1. Was it clear how to set up and finish the split?

  2. What confused you or slowed you down?

  3. Would a restaurant worker pay $9 one-time for it? Why or why not?

If you want to help let me know. I'll send testers a free code. No review needed, just honest feedback in the comments or a DM.

Thanks,

--jamie

[Web, Beta] I built Aptocast, a platform where your perspectives help shape evolving Stories. Looking for early users.

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've been building something called Aptocast, and I'm looking for early users who are willing to try it out and share honest feedback.

The idea came from a frustration with how information and discussions work online. We have endless opinions, articles, and conversations scattered across different platforms, but very little that brings everything together into a fuller picture.

So I built Aptocast.

It's a new platform where you can:

  • Share your perspective: Publish Posts with your opinions, ideas, and sources.
  • Explore Stories: Discover evolving, source-backed Stories that bring together information, citations, and different viewpoints.
  • Contribute to the bigger picture: Your Posts and contributions can help shape how Stories develop.
  • Engage with others: Follow contributors, discuss topics, and discover perspectives you might not have considered.

What I'm really trying to build is a place where people don't just consume information, but help contribute to it.

What I'm looking for:

I'd love to find some folks to explore Aptocast, create a Post about something that interests you, or contribute to a discussion.

I'm particularly interested in knowing:

  1. Is it immediately clear what Aptocast does?
  2. Is publishing your first Post intuitive?
  3. Do the Stories and source-backed information provide something useful?
  4. Would you actually come back and use this? If not, why?

The web platform is live and available to try:

https://aptocast.com

I'm actively developing the platform, and early contributors have a real opportunity to influence where it goes.

You can leave feedback here or DM me. I'm especially interested in criticism, confusing experiences, and things that need improvement.

And I'm happy to check out other projects from builders here as well.

Thanks for giving it a look!

Seesaw: An iOS app to play games and have conversations with your closest people

I created Seesaw, where you can create a space with your partner, kids, siblings, or friends. In a space, you can play games, have conversations, and save your favourite memories.

I added the games I play with my niece. There's a scoreboard of who won more games each month, and I can already see a month coming soon where she wins more than I do. xd

For partners, there are conversation games where you learn something new about each other each time.

The games are completely free, and the other person doesn't need the app. You share a link, and they join from any browser, on a phone or laptop.

Some of the partner conversations are paid. If you hit the paywall, comment here or DM me, and I'll send you a code so it's free.

App link: https://apps.apple.com/app/seesaw-a-place-for-two/id6755359501

Would appreciate any kind of feedback!

[Free, open source] DemoForge: product demo videos from a script, looking for testers

Looking for people who make product demos or onboarding videos to try it and tell me what breaks.

You write the clicks once with one narration line per step, and it records your app with auto-zoom, a cursor and a voiceover. UI changed? Run it again.

Tested mostly on Linux, so Mac and Windows feedback is extra welcome.

I made a gym app called Zenvra looking for feedback

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on Zenvra, a gym and fitness app designed to make keeping track of your training and progress easier.

We’ve recently released a demo, so I wanted to finally share it and get some feedback from people outside of our own circle.

The app is still in development, so there’s definitely a lot that can be improved. I’m especially interested in hearing what you think about the concept, the design and the overall experience.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback, whether you like the idea or think there are things we should change. The goal right now is to learn from people actually trying it and use that feedback to improve the app.

The demo link is in the comments.

Thanks to anyone who takes a look!

[Web beta] RECEIPTS — looking for volunteers to test a free legal-information website

Hi everyone! I’m building RECEIPTS, a free U.S. legal-information website designed to explain legal rules in plain language and connect people with official sources.

https://receiptscheck.com

I’m looking for a few volunteers to spend about five minutes testing it on their phone or computer.

Here’s what would help: • Ask your own general question, including the state if relevant. • Tell me whether you received a useful explanation, only source links, or no usable result. • Try opening the official proof, then saving and reopening your research. • If you use read-aloud or larger text, feedback on those controls would also help.

If something fails, use “Report an issue” on the site. Please describe what you tried, what you expected, and what actually happened. Your device/browser is helpful if you know it.

General feedback here is welcome too. Please keep personal case details and documents out of public comments.

Coverage is still growing. I especially want to find the steps where people get stuck or leave without a useful answer. RECEIPTS provides legal information, not legal advice.

Thanks for helping me improve it!

My app SocialCritiq is entering beta next month looking for testers!

This app is specifically designed for those who love entertainment. From movies and TV shows to games, books, manga, music, and anime. You can talk about it, review it, or even make your case to the community about your favorite content.

I spent over 1,200 hours designing this and would love some test users to give feedback, suggest improvements, or at least let me know how the performance is feeling.

This isn't just a basic tracker like Letterboxd, it's a full social media app aimed at those of us who love entertainment but just want a clean place to talk about things.

This is my first app I plan to publish, so if you're interested, you can sign up at https://socialcritiq.com/

Looking for testers for a free browser poker beta — especially phone and tablet users

I'm the creator of Apokerlypse, a free browser Texas Hold'em game. I'd like people outside my own testing group to try the onboarding and table interface. No download, account or payment is needed; it uses virtual chips only.

Test link: https://apokerlypse.pages.dev

A short test you can do alone:

  1. Choose "Practice against bots" on the homepage.

  2. Pick Standard or Extraction and the number of opponents (1–5).

  3. Play a few hands and try the hand history.

If you have someone to try it with, you can also create a private table and open the invite link on another device. Tables support 2–6 players.

I'm particularly looking for feedback on whether the controls and chip amounts are readable, whether it's obvious whose turn it is and who won, and whether joining from an invite feels straightforward. If something breaks, please include the device/browser and the steps that led to it.

Standard is an open-ended game with fixed blinds and capped rebuys. Extraction is a tournament with rising blinds, no rebuys, a progressively damaged floating table and a helicopter extraction for the final survivor.

It's a beta built with AI-assisted coding and generated visual assets. Feedback can go directly in the comments; even one confusing moment would be useful to hear about.
