Street food price in Israel

Hello guys,
I would like to ask you question regarding food prices in Israel.
Can you give me some base values, so I am not taken advantage of, as tourist?
For example hummus, schwarma, od those fruit smoothies? I was asked 25nis for one smoothie and I have no idea, if that is OK or not...

Thanks for the reply!
I did buy the smoothie in Jerusalem old city market.
I got there hummus for 25 shekels aswell. That was near Jaffa gate.

25 shekels for Hummus is perfectly acceptable.

Hummus goes from ten shekels to forty, depending where you get it.

25 sheks is like $6.50, no big deal. The best hummus is the cheapest typically though (abu hassan in jaffa and the place in shuk hacarmel in tel aviv).

Unlimited (decent) hummus at Abu YoYo right off the midrachov, on dorot rishonim.

I have a stupid question.

Say I'm now craving a shawarma in laffa (which is true).

When the shawarma shops open after shabbat, they can't possibly have fresh laffa already can they? I mean, in theory they could have Arabs making the laffa during the day today but that would probably not be kashrut?

I always think buying stuff that needs to be fresh to be good is a bad idea on Sat nights here, particularly if its a kosher shop.

Yeah you're probably right, buy them tomorrow if you want them fresh

Assuming it's a good place they'll start making fresh pita right away.

If you are paying 15 shekels for a pita with falafel you are a sucker.

That's the Tel Aviv price. The further north/south you get it gets better.

I live in Jerusalem and don't pay more than 10

There are also a few places in Tel Aviv where it's better.

Fair enough. I usually try to avoid tel aviv if at all possible

Where is that magical place?

You've got two places just outside the central bus station that sell for 10, also another play on king George, and that's what I can remember off the top of my head

You are forgiven

Why? 14 is the price I always paid at Falafel Zohar in Haifa.

Locate nearest cofix.

Pay no more than 5 shekels.

Think to yourself "taste to cost ratio is through the roof"

Save enough money day to day to treat yourself to overpriced overdelicious meal.

Jerusalem prices :

Plates of humus are usually 15-25 shekels. There's a place near Yafo that you pay 25 shekels, get a plate of hummous, 2 pitas, and they keep giving you refills (albeit smaller portions, but still unlimited)

Shawarma? Could be from 15-30 for pita (depending if you want chicken/lamb etc) and 20-45 for laffa (could be even more)

Fruit smoothies are dumb, but akoladas price range for them is correct.

Falafel - depends. In Tel aviv, you can get good ass falafel for 6 shekels, while in Jerusalem, 10+ shekels seems standard (I've seen a 6 shekel place near lishkat gius, but haven't gotten to trying it yet).

חומוס אבו יו-יו. Right off the midrachov on Dorot Rishonim.
